What are the basic requirements for a Service Broker? Are there any rules that prevent me from making the job as simple as possible and wrapping service instances in Docker containers?
In short, the minimal requirements for a service broker are: Implement the Broker API; Bindings provide connection details that work; Data is stored to a persistent volume; and Security patches can be rolled out.
It turns out that creating Service Brokers is a lot easier with Docker. I’m not even sure what the next easiest nor next best option is.
In this session we will look at getting started with https://github.com/cloudfoundry-community/docker-boshrelease to create and deploy a new service broker with your own Docker images. We’ll then look at options for scaling your system and providing backup/recovery for all service instances.
